Randy Granger, Lean Six Sigma Healthcare
Randy has over 32 years of experience in a Fortune 500 company including operations, supply chain, product development and Lean Six Sigma business process improvement. He is a dynamic senior level manager that is a decisive and effective leader with the ability to reduce large problems into solvable components. Randy is best know for his ability to combine strategic thinking and utilize business savvy to grow profitable organizations.
Lean Six Sigma Business Process Improvement –Randy is professionally trained and certified and conducted numerous Black Belt Lean and Six Sigma business process improvement projects corporate wide. His Black Belt responsibilities included implementing and running projects utilizing data driven process improvement as well as waste elimination in projects both large and small. His projects implemented to date are generating in excess of $665,000 cost savings annually.
Operations Management – Randy has over 22 years of managing all aspects of a vertically integrated apparel manufacturing division, consisting of up to 12 plants. During this time, he worked his way up through the ranks from manager trainee to General Manager, Domestic Apparel Operations. His responsibilities included hiring a motivated and committed team of up to 3,200 employees with annual operating budgets of up to $401,000,000 consisting of fabric finishing, automated cutting/sewing and final assembly sewing.
Warren Smedley, Healthcare Leader Development and Team Excellence
Warren’s professional experience and focus has been in the area of healthcare management, leadership development, and new venture start-ups. He has served in many health care management roles, from the marketing of corporate benefit plans, to developing a national PPO network, to starting and running medical practice management companies.
Currently, Warren is the Service Line Administrator for Cancer and GI Services at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Health System. He is responsible for coordianting all clinical cancer services at UAB, delivered through the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, and for all gastroenterology clinical services delivered through the UAB Digestive Disease Center. Responsibilities for these service lines include strategic planning, service line growth, health system marketing, and facilitaion of strategic initiatives. Warren also serves on the Board of Directors for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN).
Previously, he was Vice President for Physician Development at St. Vincent’s Health System, a 5 facility, Ascension Health, hospital system in Birmingham, where he led the physician relations, recruiting, and employed practice management services. He also served for 11 years with Dale Carnegie Training and reached the level of Master Trainer.
He holds a B.A. from Denison University in Ohio, and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration (MSHA) from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Additional graduate level studies in business administration have been completed at Rutgers University and Samford University.
In his spare time, he is also President of North Star Martial Arts Ministries, where he trains with his children in Tang Soo Do karate and teaches self defense classes.
Farrell Adkins, Healthcare Leader Development and Root Cause Analysis
Farrell Adkins is currently an Executive Officer for the contracts office of the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command. His responsibilities include human capital development, process improvement and policy development. He has particular interest in Learning Organization principles and innovative solutions to complicated problems.
As an associate of Power 2 Transform, he brings a rich background in healthcare which allows him to work with both frontline employees and executives to transform organizational cultures. His prior experience as Quality Manager and Clinical Operations Chief for Fox Army Health Center makes him an ideal choice to deliver learning experiences in root cause analysis, leader development and executive coaching.
Farrell completed his BS in Nursing at SUNY Binghamton and his Masters in Business with Webster University. He anticipates receiving a Doctorate in Business Administration in March 2012.
Bruce Pieper, Healthcare Leader Development and Executive Coaching
Bruce is recognized as a dynamic communicator, consultant, and leadership coach. For the past 25 years, his professional focus has been in the area of education and leadership development. During this time, he has been customizing training for businesses, nonprofit organizations, churches, and educational institutions. Active in several nonprofit organizations, he has earned an outstanding reputation for visionary leadership and contributions to his community.
Bruce holds several degrees with academic distinction: a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership, a Master of Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Theology. Additional studies include graduate level coursework towards a Master of Divinity and undergraduate coursework in Business Administration. As a means of staying professionally crisp, he enjoys membership in Toastmasters International.
Professionally trained and certified, Bruce specializes in using assessments in his organization and leadership coaching. His acute insight into people and organizational issues is key to his delivering what is needed to help individuals and organizations make improvements.
